A trip to South Asia

by an FBCJ member

This year, I had the privilege of serving in two South Asian countries. It was the farthest I had ever traveled from home, yet I felt right where God wanted me to be. The cultures were vibrant and full of life, but many people had never heard the good news of Jesus Christ.

During my time there, I had the opportunity to share the Gospel with people who had never heard the name of Jesus. Some knew of Him only as a prophet called Isa, but had never heard that He is the Lord and Savior who gave His life so that we could be reconciled to God. Sharing the Gospel is always both exciting and humbling, but sharing Christ with someone hearing His name for the very first time is an experience I will never forget.

Seeing the spiritual need among the nations deepened my understanding of God's heart for the world and strengthened my commitment to His mission. Since returning home, I find myself constantly looking for opportunities to join God in advancing His Kingdom, whether across the street or across the world. There are people around us every day who need the hope of Christ. The question is: will we share that hope with them?

The Missions Team at FBC Jonesboro played a vital role in making this experience possible. They equipped, encouraged, and prepared me to serve among the nations. If you have ever considered going on a mission trip, I encourage you to take that step of faith. God uses those experiences not only to impact others, but also to transform your own heart. As believers, we are called to glorify Him by declaring His glory among the nations and His marvelous works among all peoples.
